Drishyam: The Conclusion Review: The Final 30 Minutes Are Peak Drishyam

I finally watched the much-awaited Drishyam 3: The Conclusion in theaters—and mind you, all shows are running housefull. Honestly, this is a franchise that doesn’t really need word-of-mouth or reviews.

But still, for you guys… Let’s Spill the Binge!

Before moving forward, let me quickly drop a link. In case you’re planning to watch Drishyam 3 but need a refresher on the story so far, I’ve published a solid recap right here on this blog: “Watching Drishyam 3? Here’s the Full Drishyam Story So Far“.

That said, the movie itself starts with a three-minute recap of the previous two parts anyway.

Now, regarding the final part of Drishyam—Well, whether I should call it the “final” one or not is something we should leave to the makers.

Because just when you think the story has concluded, they go and dig Sam up from the ground all over again.

Drishyam 3 Review: A New Threat for Vijay Salgaonkar

And this time, new trouble is looming over Vijay Salgaonkar.

Jaideep Ahlawat’s character enters the fray, having stumbled upon a crucial clue linked to the previous case; this leads to the files being reopened. The investigation kicks off again, and Vijay Salgaonkar’s family is once more shaken by fear.

A Slow First Half, But the Tension Keeps Building

Look, the movie’s first half is a bit slow. At times, you might feel the story is taking its sweet time, but the tension remains constant. Especially the scene where Jaideep Ahlawat visits Vijay’s house for the first time—bro, what a scene! It served as the interval block, and honestly, it was mind-blowing.

The way the tension builds in that scene is incredible; on one hand, you’re admiring Jaideep Ahlawat’s acting, while on the other, you’re feeling furious at his character. You experience both emotions simultaneously.

The Second Half Is Where Drishyam Comes Alive

Ultimately, Drishyam has always been a story-driven franchise. It’s a film where the suspense builds up gradually.

If I talk just about the first half, it might feel a bit weaker compared to the previous two installments. But have some patience, because the second half, true to the “Drishyam” franchise, delivers a mind-bending twist.

We already know that Vijay Salgaonkar will ultimately outsmart everyone. But the fun isn’t in whether he wins or not; the real thrill lies in…

…how he maneuvers the police investigation, the lawyers’ arguments, the evidence, and the entire case to fit his own narrative. That is exactly what keeps the audience hooked.

The Final 30 Minutes Deliver the Drishyam Magic

And bro, those final 30 minutes—the climax. We all know the pattern.

We know something is about to happen that will flip the entire case on its head, yet you still get completely engrossed in it. That is Drishyam’s greatest strength.

Performances, Family Watchability and Final Verdict

The movie runs for nearly two and a half hours and is rated U/A 16+, so you can generally watch it with your family, just like the previous ones. There are only a few dull moments in the first half, which can easily be overlooked.

As for performances, I have to say Jaideep Ahlawat impressed me—in some scenes, even more than Ajay Devgn. The way his character builds pressure adds a unique intensity to the film.

And poor Gaitonde has always been right, but he keeps getting thrashed because of his own actions. The irony is that the situation is set up in a way that he gets beaten up despite being technically right, and we as the audience are having fun watching it.

Meanwhile, our hero is tampering with evidence and manipulating proof after committing a crime. He misleads the investigation, yet witnessing his cunning makes us exclaim, “Wow, what a scene!”—and that is the magic of storytelling.

Hardly any other franchise illustrates how a writer can sway the audience’s allegiance quite like Drishyam.

And thank God, there is a 99.9% chance that a fourth part won’t be made—at least, that’s what I think. The most interesting part is that this isn’t even a remake of the Malayalam Drishyam 3; instead, the makers crafted a fresh story and a new climax, executing them brilliantly.

I can say that, in terms of presentation, I found it superior to the original version in many aspects.

Considering the overall suspense, performances, second half, and climax, I’m giving Drishyam: The Conclusion easily four stars.

If you’ve watched the movie, do let me know in the comments what you thought of the climax. And if you haven’t seen it yet—what are you waiting for? Go watch it! See you soon.
