Friends, Zee 5 has launched a new show called Hostel Haadsa, which you can watch without needing a subscription. (Honestly, getting a Zee 5 subscription is a crime in itself!)
Hostel Haadsa Story and Episodes
The story is set in a hostel, where a headless ghost is said to be roaming around, a ghost with no head. It’s basically the ‘Sarkata’ from Stree 2. You’ll have to watch the show to uncover the mystery behind it.
There are seven episodes, each ranging from 20 to 25 minutes in length.
Hostel Haadsa Review: A Horror Show That Fails to Scare
If I had to sum up Hostel Haadsa in a single line, I’d say the show itself is a “haadsa” (a disaster). Its very creation is a disaster; its release is a disaster, and for any audience member who watches it, that, too, will be a disaster.
It’s essentially the 90s horror series Aahat wrapped in a Gen Z plastic bag. The “horror” element is about as substantial as a housefly’s testicles. If my underwear hair didn’t stand on end, how on earth am I supposed to feel any real fear?
It features a run-of-the-mill plot, tired clichés, and CGI so abysmal it’s enough to make anyone weep.
I have to ask the makers: why do you even produce shows like this? Who exactly is your target audience? Sure, there are always a few sycophants who’ll gush, “Wow, what a show!”
I feel bad for the actors who work in shows like this, though, on second thought, at least they’re getting paid.
Actually, I should feel bad for the audience, especially for us, since we have to watch the entire show just to provide a review!
Aahat-Inspired Background Music and Endless Smoke
The show’s theme was clearly inspired by Aahat, and the background music was the same too, you know, that “Hmm… hmm… ahhhh… ahhhhhh ah” sound? That’s the only BGM used throughout the entire show.
Actually, it’s not really a “show”; it’s more of a TV serial.
Since the makers wanted to create a “scary” atmosphere, what did they do? They filled every single scene with smoke, much like how Zee 5 is “smoking” (draining) my wallet!
Hostel Haadsa Verdict: Should You Watch It?
Overall, it’s a complete waste of time. If you’ve got time to kill, go ahead and watch it. I had plenty of time, so I watched it, but decide for yourself.
I’d give the show 3 out of 10. To be fair, the actors did a decent job, but beyond that, there’s really nothing to it.
There’s no need for a “parental guidance” warning, as there’s no vulgarity or adult content. The show is packed with typical clichés; it’s absolutely stuffed to the brim with the same old tropes you’d see in movies and shows from the 90s.
I hope this review proves helpful to you!
