Family Kirana Store Season 2 Review: Better Than I Expected!

Hey, do you watch Bigg Boss? If so, you’re probably wondering whether Nakul Dhull will make a comeback. Well, I’ve shared a theory on this—”Nakul Dhull Re-Entry in Bigg Boss 20: Is He Returning in Weekend Ka Vaar?” If you’re curious, do check it out to see if he’ll actually return.

Now, moving on to the main topic: honestly, I had no idea that Season 2 of Family Kirana Store had been released. I didn’t have high expectations, as I hadn’t found the previous season particularly fascinating—it wasn’t exactly bad, but it didn’t quite reach the level one usually expects from TVF.

So, this time, I went into it with zero expectations. Let’s find out what my experience was like!

Family Kirana Store Season 2 Story and Episode Length

Well, the story of Season 2 continues but even if you have not seen its first season, it will not make much difference.

As for the difficulties they are facing in running the store—well, it’s the same old story. In the meantime, the role of the neighbors has been expanded this time around, which, in a way, helps create a sense of connection.

The show has five episodes whose length is 17-18 minutes. The final episode is half an hour long.

Now, if I review Family Kirana Store Season 2 for you in one line, I would say that I enjoyed it.

I mean, I did not expect that this time the show would turn out to be so much better. The improvements that we as viewers were looking for have been made here.

The question that was raised earlier was properly justified that the location is Rajasthan and why people are speaking Bihari, so this is one of the positive points of this show.

The comedy in the show is spot-on—truly top-tier, high-quality stuff. And by “comedy,” I don’t mean it’s loud or over-the-top.

It’s not just a relentless barrage of punchlines, either; instead, the comedy is seamlessly blended into the situations as they unfold.

The final episode was absolute cinema—a peak episode, bro, that evokes a whole range of emotions. You’ll likely find yourself tearing up; your eyes will well up, and you might even feel a lump in your throat—that’s exactly what happened to me.

Episode five was excellent.

This season feels a bit like Panchayat; the new characters—Bhatti and Goli—will remind you exactly of “Banrakas” and “Vinod” from that show.

In many of their conversations, they evoke the same dynamic as the duo of “Banrakas” and “Vinod”, and there’s no doubt that their performance was superb.

That said, it’s not just the new actors who delivered; the existing cast was also excellent.

As for Manisha, she plays a character that mirrors the persona she often portrays in her own Instagram videos—speaking in a Rajasthani dialect—and she does a fantastic job. Although her role was not very big, she made good use of the screen time she had.

The eldest son of the household has now begun a love life of his own. As for how it will progress—well, only time will tell.

But yes, the show was good.

What Could Have Been Better?

As for the drawbacks, the show lacks detail. I mean, the episodes are only 17–18 minutes long—they start and then just end. They really should have been longer—at least 25 minutes—because, as it stands, there’s no real sense of depth.

It’s just: an episode starts, it ends, then another starts and ends—you definitely notice that.

The production quality is better than in the first season, but it still needs further improvement.

Then again, since it’s on YouTube, I suppose we can adjust.

Direction and Sponsor Integration Deserve Praise

Man, the way they’ve integrated the sponsors this time—My wet kisses to them! The brands were woven in so smoothly; it’s truly something to learn from.

Hemant Mishra, who plays Chintu—the son in the family—is also the director of the show. He’s done a commendable job this time around.

As a director, Hemant Mishra has done a great job; he’s handled everything really well.

I’m looking forward to an even better Season 3, as this season has set the bar high—it’s clear the show is only going to get better from here.

Family Kirana Store Season 2 Rating and Verdict

I’d give Family Kirana Store Season 2 a 7.5 out of 10.

There’s no need for parental guidance; it’s a completely family-friendly show.

So, definitely sit down with your whole family and give this show a watch if you’re looking for some lighthearted entertainment.
