Don’t Trouble the Trouble Ending Explained: A Greedy Man’s Unexpected Friendship With a Ghost Girl

Disclaimer: This article contains spoilers.

At the beginning of the story, we are introduced to Suri. By profession, he is an ambulance driver, but in reality, it would be hard to find anyone more greedy than him; for him, money holds far more importance than humanity.

Suri’s Greed Gets Him Into Serious Trouble

One day, Suri receives an emergency call from the hospital. The condition is to transport a critically ill patient to the hospital within 20 minutes, for which he would be paid ₹10,000.

Enticed by the prospect of money, Suri accepts the challenge without a moment’s hesitation. Navigating through the city’s heavy traffic with cunning skill, he manages to get the ambulance to the hospital on time, but it is already too late; the patient has passed away.

Suri, however, feels not the slightest bit of remorse. He simply collects his payment and leaves. It is as if he has a stone where his heart should be, leaving him completely indifferent.

That same night, Suri arrives at Aslam Bhai’s den, accompanied by his friend Mallesh, a magician who has come to perform his act.

Following the magic show, a high-stakes goat fight breaks out. Aslam Bhai has wagered a massive 2.5 million rupees on his own goat to win. To everyone’s astonishment, however, a seemingly ordinary-looking goat belonging to Suri soundly defeats Aslam Bhai’s powerful animal.

Everyone was left stunned by what they saw.

Later, as Suri was happily counting his winnings, Mallesh asked him how he had pulled off such a feat. Suri replied, unfazed, that brute strength always bows down before intellect.

Just then, a man named Taufiq arrived, seething with rage. He revealed that Suri had deceitfully injected Aslam Bhai’s goat with a substance that caused it to weaken during the fight.

As a result, Aslam Bhai suffered a massive loss of 2.5 million (25 lakh) rupees. Mallesh tried to persuade Suri to abandon this crooked path, but Suri, intoxicated by the prospect of money, was in no mood to listen to anyone.

The next day, when Suri returned home, he was left stunned. Mallesh and Taufiq were lying on the ground, half-dead,

while Aslam Bhai stood right there.

Aslam issued a direct warning to Suri: if he didn’t return his 2.5 million rupees (₹25 lakh) within two days, he would kill all three of them.

Desperate to save his life, Mallesh went to his village and begged his mother to sell their last remaining acre of land, but she flatly refused. Suri, who was standing outside, heard everything. For the first time, he felt a pang of shame, realising that his actions had put his friends’ lives at risk.

Feeling dejected, Suri approached his ambulance and noticed a strange blue light glowing in the bushes. He went over and discovered a mysterious locket, which he quickly tucked into his pocket.

Suri Meets a Little Girl Who Believes in Magic

The next morning, Mallesh was entertaining children outside a school by performing magic tricks. Meanwhile, Suri’s devious eyes were scanning the crowd, looking for a wealthy child to kidnap hoping to demand a hefty ransom.

Suddenly, he spotted a wealthy child. Just as he was about to lure the child into his van with the promise of plenty of chocolates, the child’s father and the school guard arrived. Fearing he might get caught, Suri shoved the child aside and fled.

Meanwhile, poor Mallesh gets beaten up by the crowd, as everyone knew the two of them had arrived together.

Frustrated with his luck, Suri pulls the vehicle over in a deserted, hilly area outside the city. He is staring at the blue locket when, suddenly, he hears the voice of a little girl from behind. She introduces herself as Divya.

Seeing Suri in his strange, magician-like attire, she assumes he is a great magician. Suri immediately realises the girl is alone and decides to claim that he is the greatest magician in Hyderabad.

He proceeds to show her a few cheap, hackneyed magic tricks. But Divya is sharp; she points out that these are merely sleight-of-hand tricks, not real magic. Just then, a man appears in the distance, searching for his daughter. Panicked, Suri tells Divya to hide inside his van.

Suri assumes the man must be Divya’s father. Divya looks at her beloved dog, Snoopy, and asks if they should trust the man. Snoopy immediately jumps into the van, and Divya follows him, completely unafraid.

On the way, Divya makes fun of Suri’s old, outdated phone, mentioning that their driver owns an iPhone and that they even have a BMW at home. Hearing this, visions of vast wealth flash before Suri’s eyes; he realizes he has stumbled upon a golden opportunity.

When Divya repeatedly insists that he perform “real” magic, Suri changes the subject and asks about her parents. Hearing this, Divya’s expression turns somber. She innocently explains that her parents had scolded her severely on her birthday; upset, she had waved her toy magic wand and made them disappear.

She had no idea that her magic would actually work. Now, she wants Suri to use his “great magic” to bring them back. Realizing that the girl is living in a fantasy world, Suri decides to take full advantage of her innocence.

Suri finds Divya’s parents’ phone numbers and tries calling them from a stranger’s phone, but both numbers are switched off. Together with Divya, he looks up her home on Google Maps and is left stunned to see a magnificent bungalow located in the Anantagiri Hills.

Putting on a serious face, Suri tells Divya that to perform such a grand feat of magic, he needs to go to his “secret magic lab.” He then takes her to his own home.

Seeing the state of the place, Divya grimaces and remarks that it is even dirtier than a trash bin. Suri replies that it isn’t a trash bin, but rather a special facility dedicated to research on magic.

Here, Divya promises him that after her parents return, Suri can live with them in their big house. Suri is a little surprised at how much this girl has started considering him as her own.

Suri’s ₹1 Crore Kidnapping Plan Goes Wrong

Suri tells Divya to wait at home and leaves from there on the pretext of taking magic items. Meanwhile, Divya’s uncle Pratap was worried about the disappearance of his sister, brother-in-law and niece.

On the other hand, police officer Krishna was also investigating this matter.

Here, Suri cleverly disguised himself as a delivery boy and reached Pratap’s house. There he came to know that the police was looking for Divya, and he also cleverly took out Pratap’s number.

Meanwhile, Divya was waiting at home. As soon as she touches a closed door, a swirl of blue and pink light forms. In an instant, the door transforms into a magical portal, and Divya steps inside.

Divya thinks that all this is the same magic which Suri taught her. Then, in the dark of night, Suri asks a stranger for his phone and calls Pratap directly. He reveals that Divya is with him and demands the entire ₹1 crore in exchange for her safety.

When Pratap says that he wants to talk to Divya, Suri flatly refuses so that the police does not trace his location.

Later, when Suri returns home, he finds Divya sitting outside, looking sad. He brings her indoors, and Divya explains that she had been enjoying the rain with the car’s sunroof open on her birthday. Her mother scolded her and threatened to leave her on the street if she didn’t come inside.

In a fit of anger, Divya waved her wand and said, “Abra-ka-dabra, disappear, Mom and Dad!” and they vanished.

Seeing Divya so unhappy, Suri opened his fist to cheer her up. Countless glowing fireflies flew out and spread across the entire room. He told Divya that these were angels who “WhatsApp” our wishes directly to God.

Hearing this, Divya became happy. But Suri realized that Divya was living in a world of her own.

The next day, Suri summoned Pratap to a maze at a fairground with the money. He had hidden Divya and Snoopy in a safe location. Pratap arrived at the scene accompanied by the entire police force.

However, Suri was extremely cunning; wearing a mask, he warned Pratap that if the police took even a single step forward, he would never return Divya.

The police were forced to retreat, and Suri told Pratap that Divya was inside the maze. Pratap began searching for her frantically, but she was nowhere to be found.

Amidst the ensuing chaos, just as Suri was about to flee with the money, a clown snatched the bag from him and refused to return it.

Seeing the police closing in, Suri was compelled to escape empty-handed.

Upon finding Divya outside, he thought to himself, “At least I still have the girl; I can demand the money again.” But just then, Aslam Bhai’s henchmen arrived. They gave Suri a brutal beating and left, issuing a final ultimatum: he had 24 hours left.

The Shocking Truth About Divya’s Magical Powers

This left Suri with no other options. He called Pratap once more, this time instructing him to come to a metro station alone, bringing the money with him.

Following this, we see Suri telling Divya to wait somewhere within the metro station. Since animals were not permitted on the premises, Snoopy had been left in an ambulance; however, he managed to slip into the station, prompting the staff to chase after him.

Meanwhile, a masked Suri snatches the bag of money from Pratap inside the train and shoves him onto the platform.

At that same moment, Divya sees people trying to grab her beloved dog; she fears they might kill Snoopy. Enraged, she unleashes a powerful magical strike with both hands, and in the blink of an eye, all the lights at the station go out.

People are sent flying through the air, and the train, which was just about to depart, comes to an abrupt halt. It turns out that Divya truly possesses magical powers.

Taking advantage of the chaos, Pratap boards the metro and confronts Suri. Desperate to keep his identity hidden, Suri abandons the bag of money and flees.

Then, as soon as he steps outside, his eyes fall upon Divya. Suri shouts at her loudly and, in a fit of rage, raises his hand to slap her. But what does he see? His hand passes straight through Divya’s body.

Suri is left completely stunned. It doesn’t take long for him to realize that the girl who had been with him is not a human, but a ghost. His terror intensifies when he notices that Divya’s reflection is nowhere to be seen in a nearby mirror.

Overcome with fear, Suri runs frantically and leaps onto a bus. Divya, however, pursues him; angered by his attempt to escape, she uses her powers to shatter the entire bus into pieces.

Desperate to save his life, Suri runs and takes refuge inside a temple, assuming that ghosts and spirits cannot enter such a sacred space. But he finds that Divya has followed him there as well.

When Suri pleaded with her, joining his hands, Divya replied with childlike innocence that she was merely protecting him because she is his best friend.

Some time passes, and in an attempt to get rid of Divya, Suri takes her to a tantric. However, the tantric is unable to see Divya, as only Suri can perceive her.

Instead, the tantric begins beating Suri. Seeing this, Divya becomes enraged; she hurls the tantric into the air and tosses him far away. It becomes clear that Divya has no intention of ever leaving Suri’s side.

Following this, a clever new idea strikes Suri. He wonders: why not harness this girl’s powers to deal with Aslam Bhai?

Then, he takes Divya in front of an idol and pretends to pray to God, asking that she be granted infinite powers. This convinces Divya that she has acquired all these abilities solely because of Suri.

Afterward, Suri arrives at Aslam Bhai’s house where a party is underway, having previously instructed Divya to unleash her powers whenever he says the words “Abra ka Dabra.” And that is exactly what happens.

At Suri’s cue, Divya creates such chaos that a terrified Aslam Bhai forgets all about his own wealth; instead, he offers money to Suri, begging him to leave.

Suri Finally Realises Who His Real Friend Is

Once he has the money, Suri tells Divya to stay put in one place and then makes his escape leaving her sitting at a temple.

On the way, Suri receives a call from Mallesh. Mallesh explains that he has sold his land and managed to arrange 2 million (20 lakh) rupees. Essentially, Mallesh is offering to return the money that Suri had won from Aslam Bhai by tricking him; he suggests that they take this money to Aslam Bhai, and perhaps get the remaining 500,000 (5 lakh) rupees waived.

Suri realizes that Mallesh is his only true friend. However, the police soon arrest Suri, as his face had been captured on CCTV when he went to investigate Pratap’s house.

Following this, Suri is severely beaten at the police station. The police question him about Divya, but Suri pretends to know nothing. Meanwhile, seeing an ambulance outside, Divya realizes that Suri is in trouble. She heads straight to the police station, where she finds Pratap brutally beating Suri.

Divya tries to stop her uncle and stands in his path, but Pratap can neither see nor hear her. Consequently, the stick Pratap is wielding passes right through Divya’s body and strikes Suri.

Ultimately, broken by the beating, Suri tearfully reveals the whole truth to Divya. He says, “Child, I have lied to you about something very significant. I am not a magician, and I possess no special powers. All the power is actually yours. The truth is, you are not alive.”

Divya is left stunned.

The Heartbreaking Truth Behind Divya’s Disappearance

Upon learning the truth, she recalls her painful past a moment when she was waving a magic wand inside the car, which caused her parents to lose focus. The car lost control and collided violently with an oncoming, speeding truck.

Divya lost her life in that very accident. Realizing this bitter truth, she breaks down in uncontrollable tears and then suddenly vanishes.

Meanwhile, following Divya’s disappearance, a change begins to come over Suri. When Mallesh arrives, Suri makes him swear an oath; he reasons that since the spirits of Divya’s parents were not seen alongside her, it must mean they are still alive.

Suri then manages to escape from the police station and, with the help of Snoophy, tracks down Divya. There, he sincerely apologizes to her for all the lies he had told and promises that he will find her parents.

After this, Suri takes Divya to the same ravine where he had found the locket. Without a second thought for his own safety, Suri descends into the deep chasm, and his hunch proves correct.

At the bottom, he discovers the car that had been involved in a severe accident; Divya’s parents are trapped inside, having sustained serious injuries. Crucially, Divya’s mother is pregnant.

Summoning all his strength, Suri pulls Divya’s father out and performs CPR, successfully restoring his breathing.

Just then, Pratap and a police team arrive at the scene. Without hesitation, Pratap fires a shot at Suri. However, he is left in complete shock when he sees that, despite being wounded, Suri continues his efforts to save Divya’s father, showing no regard for his own life.

Refusing to give up, Suri heads back into the ravine to rescue Divya’s pregnant mother. By this point, however, his condition has become critical; he is bleeding profusely and struggling to breathe.

Just as he is on the verge of giving up, thousands of glowing fireflies suddenly appear. With the help of the magical circle formed by these fireflies, Suri manages to secure a rope, allowing the police to pull Divya’s mother to safety.

Then, Officer Krishna throws a rope himself and pulls Suri up as well. As Suri reaches the top, panting, he sees the police bringing a small body from the ravine, and it was Divya’s.

Seeing this sight, Suri is completely shattered and begins to weep uncontrollably. Just then, Divya’s spirit appears before him. She smiles and says You kept your promise. You used to say you aren’t a magician, but in my eyes, you are the greatest magician in the world. You, who saved the lives of my mother and my father.

Suddenly, due to the effect of those magical fireflies ‘ light, Suri is able to touch Divya’s spirit. He hugs her tightly. Then Pratap, Mallesh, and the police officer Krishna present there are moved to tears upon seeing this, as they too can feel Divya’s presence, and then, holding Divya’s hand, Suri closes his eyes forever. Meaning, his journey ends right there.

However friends, this story does not end here. The time is shown to be 6 months later, and we see that Mallesh is showing magic tricks to the children.

Here, all the children insist on seeing a famous trick where everyone holds each other’s hands and flies in the air, and suddenly, all the children actually start floating in the air.

But Mallesh was not performing this magic. This magic was being performed by Suri and Divya, who had now become spirits and stayed together forever. Like best friends.
