Story
Let me start with a brief overview of the story. In this series, you will follow the journey of Green Lantern John and his senior partner, Jordan. Together, they are investigating a murder case. So, who was murdered? Who committed the crime, and why? And who exactly are these Green Lanterns? To find out, you will have to watch the series.
Talking about how I felt watching this series: if you're searching for a fast-paced, entertaining, light-hearted, action-heavy superhero show in the style of Marvel, this isn't the one.
The tone or treatment of this series is serious and mature. There is no focus on action in this series. You will get to see very little action in this series. So you don't have to watch this show keeping the action in mind.
The focus of this series, or if I say that the focus of the first season is on the characters and their psychology and their relationship dynamics, then it would not be wrong. And all this has been done so that we, as an audience, can get emotionally invested in the characters and their relationships. And the good thing is that this series also succeeds in doing so.
I have liked the characters of this series. I have enjoyed the sweet and sour dynamics between the characters in this series. Plus, the story or the mystery of this series has also held my interest till the end, and we get to see some small twists and turns, as well as some action sequences, in this series, and it is fun to watch all that.
The performances by all the actors in the series are excellent. The music and production work are also very good.
Now, talking about the weak points of this series, to be honest, I definitely felt a lack of action. In my view, a little more action could have been added to this series, and the power of Green Lanterns could have been shown more and better. Plus, I found the development of the villains in this series, who have been named Manhunters, to be weak. How dangerous are the Manhunters, and how bad can they be? All this has mostly been told to us, not shown. Therefore, we as an audience are not able to feel the danger or fear regarding the villains, which is a bit disappointing.
Well, despite some such issues, Lanterns is an enjoyable series. Therefore, I will rate this series 8/10, and while leaving, I will just tell you that if you people like watching superhero, crime, and mystery dramas, then you will definitely enjoy watching this series. Just yes, this show is not meant to be watched with the family because in this series you will get to see some sex scenes, and in season one, the story has ended in such a way that even if season 2 of this series does not come, then the story of season one is almost complete, but if the creators want, they can easily continue the story in season 2. So, how did you guys like this season? Do give your opinions in the comment box. If you found this review useful, then share it in the comment box. Also, tell me what else I can improve.
